ice cream maker

by Barb Freda » Thu Jul 12, 2007 5:58 pm

I went and bought the Cuisinart maker at Costco...$50 (I covet the one where you don't need to freeze the bowl in the freezer, but that's for another time)..anyway. I've made orange basil sorbet and lime mint sorbet:Incredible! Also made an ice cream with part buttermilk, a bit of cream, some sugar and blueberries. Yum.

Having fun..the machine is VERY easy to use..not too big...worth it.

That's the same one I have, Barb. My favorite thing to make, or anyway one of my favorite things, is peach ice cream! I am an ice cream junkie.

Barb, I have one too. Never make ice cream (I didn't get the ice cream gene everyone else seems to have) but sorbet...yeah!!!

Is there any reason we can't make gelato in our makers? Is it just about ratios or is about the freezing process too?

Off to research this.
