Speaking of shallots, I just harvested a bumper crop. I'm using some, giving away some, and replanting some.

No, not the same as shallots. They're full onion plants--roots, leaves and all--with no bulb to speak of on the underground part.

Scallions are green onions, but you asked about shallots ("Are they the same as shallots?") and I just happened to have harvested some shallots.
