I love it! My husband and I laugh everytime we see a fast food advertisement... "Yeah, right, I'm sure it looks just like that!"
Your link confirms just what we've always thought.

Interestingly, McDonald's products seemed to look the most like the ads! Doncha think?

This was great reading, very fun! We never took our kids to fast food places (when we had the control) and never go ourselves, so it was all curious. We had a locally owned hamburger joint not far from us years ago. They made the burgers right in front of you, with your choice of goodies. The cook wore gloves and hair covers. She never collected the money, scratched her head, or touched anything but her cooking tools and the food. I loved this place. French fries were crisp, tender, not greasy and the milkshakes out of this world. It was a different person who made the shakes. They closed the one closest to us, and that was the end of our fast food eating. Of course, I make my own fast food at home....maybe not as much fun but I know what's in it. :D

Thanks, Bill. I now truly understand why some of the cook books, especially the coffee table versions, thank the photographers so profusely.

:)

Dear Bill,
That's a lovely link. The fast food companies photographs are the only ads less accurate than hotels that use super-wide-angle shots to make it look like they're beachfront.

It's quite dishonest. Even the pre-made items, like the buns, seem totally different.

In my neck o'the woods, Taco Bell has to be the King of misleading food ads.

They always show this burrito [or whatnot] just bulging with more food than ten people could ever eat.

The reality is the burrito they advertise doesn't have enough meat in it to satisfy a two year-old.
