Potato success!

by Jenise » Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:49 pm

I just harvested about five pounds of potatoes, my second harvest this year. These are the ones that are red all the way thru that Karen found me a source for.

So now I should save a few to use as seed potatoes in the spring. How to save them--refrigerate? I don't have a basement.

I buy those purple baby potatoes all the time and love them all. They are great roasted.

Bill, thank you, that's exactly what I needed. I've actually done several of those steps just based on instinct. I didn't wash the potatoes but put them on a baking rack over a cookie sheet (to catch dirt) and left them on the counter for a week. Then I packed them up in a cardboard box and put them on the lowert shelf of my cold pantry. That won't be cold enough so I'll them to refrigeration, something I suspected would be needed, but that's the final step. I did everything else right. Thanks!
