I'd like your opinions on Fillippo Berio as an everyday, inexpensive EEVO.

Larry, I’d compare it to a wine with decent QPR. It might not make you hear angels sing, but it won’t make you go “yuk,” either. Pleasant but not complex might be a good way to put it. But for sauntering? Absolutely.

I've used it, but we use a house brand of an Italian outlet - Italissima and find it very decent as well.

Thanks to your reccos, I picked up a 101.4 oz. can of Filippo Berio for $20 marked down from $60.

hoping you are checking dates, old EVOO isn't worth it no matter who producer is.

I clicked on this thread and it went to this ad titled Get What You Want

Fair took my breath away.

Close examination (g-nar g-nar) showed it was the blouse that was for sale.....

(I shrunk the image so it would show on this page but original was larger than the forum)

-ehrr where were we? Oh yes, what the others say. I've bought that brand when it was on offer and the cheapests at the supermarket

The price of olive oil has skyrocketed here in South Australia. In early 2024 I was paying $14 - $15 for a litre of good quality locally produced EVOO. Since mid year I've been shelling out $25 for the same bottle of oil.

The word is that the last growing season here in Oz was unusually cold and short, leading to short supply.

I bet the price doesn't go down if we have a better supply next year, though.

I call it the "ratchet effect." It only goes in one direction.
