Where Have the Cherry Tomatoes Gone?

by Karen/NoCA » Wed Jan 24, 2024 12:06 pm

They are not available at Raley's, none at all! My local market only has Cherubs, I cannot get any others and that was last week. My friend said yesterday she could not find them anywhere. I did some research and it seems to be a worldwide issue. I was having a hard time believing what I read. So many are grown in greenhouses this time of year.

We have tons of them available up here (Canada) probably mostly from California. No idea why you are suffering a tomato drought.

I like to halve them and make tarts with them - bit of salt bit of basil....

Bill, might more likely be Mexico or further south. Though greenhouses anywhere can do it--speaking of which, Canada practically invented hot house tomatoes. I would think you'd have a good supply.

You are right Jenise - took a look at a package we have and it is indeed product of Mexico.
