Bamboo Rice

I visited the Zursun Heirloom Beans website this morning and came across Bamboo Rice. Does anyone have experience with it?

Yes, and I love it. Has a very fresh taste, light and clean. Great with fish. And it's a short grain rice which I prefer to all others.

Thanks Jenise, I like cooking rice with wine, think it would work with this rice? I usually use a good vermouth or a white in my kinds of rice.

Being a short-grained rice, I would expect it to come out a bit sticky. I'd be concerned that vermouth would clash with or mask the subtle flavor that is the whole point of bamboo rice.

It wouldn't NOT work, Karen, but like Paul I'm tempted to ask why do that if for no other reason than that it wouldn't taste different to you.
