I saw that on a Reddit thread about origami. Where I also saw that someone folded a crane out of a lasagna noodle!

I attended a Chinese banquet once where one of the courses was served in woven noodle baskets that had been deep-fried. Sort of a more elegant version of potato baskets. My basket-weaving skills aren't up to that.
