Thank you all! Not much in the way of festivities this year. Feeling too much grief over the loss of my boy Maestro to make light of things and stir up the usual fortnight, though we very much enjoyed an afternoon in Vancouver yesterday with the Spohns. Today we're dining on a rare luxury: take-out Chinese! There's no good Chinese food down here and of course Van is crawling with it, so after a year and a half of nothing but what I make at home this is more of a treat than most of you can imagine.

You must do the New Orleans thing for Maestro: dirge to the cemetery, cakewalk home. Oh, didn't he ramble?
