Sounds good. Lemon, cream and vanilla are certainly friendly flavors. And why not limoncello to make it an adult dessert.

A good, thick and syrupy balsamic vinegar is also tasty on vanilla ice cream. As are flavored balsamic reductions. And believe it or not, freshly ground black pepper (also fantastic on macerated strawberries).

Agreed. Vanilla ice cream is a pretty flexible canvas. Some of our other favorite toppings are pistachio cream, honey, maple syrup, or pretty much any of the syrups from one of the local jam/preserves makers at the farmers market.
