It’s a cold day in Boston.... I have a real fire going in our Beacon Hill house (1842). I’m rearranging my bookshelves trying in vain to get some sense of like with like or at least some thematic array.... and I have the Saturday PBS cooking lineup on the TV. Jacques Pepin just did a great episode from his “Heart and Soul” series - this one was on seafood. He is so cute... just cooking away and telling stories (including his 10 years at Howard Johnson’s!)... between this and our Ming discussion... I just love these shows. I wish the Food network had ended up here but I guess maybe we just aren’t the target audience and these shows don’t pull the eyeballs.
To everyone else - check your local PBS station for Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons and you may see a treasure trove of great (and in this insane time - soothing) cooking shows.
