Carrot Tagine

This one was really good, but you need to have the ras el hanout spice, it makes a huge difference. The one I use includes rose petals and lavender, which really add a lot to the complexity.

No need for a tagine to do it, just use a regular casserole dish and lid. And go lightly on the honey - 1/3 of what was called for was all that was needed to round the taste out.

I love absolutely everything about that!

I love my tagine. I have quite a supply of carrots just now, so maybe I'll try that dish. With a side of plain grilled chicken.

Looks good. Don't actually have any ras el hanout , but will use baharat, which has similar base.

I make my own ras el hanout from a recipe that I found online. I don't own a tagine but the dishes come out delicious if cooked in a conventional European-type pan.

Tagines look cool, but I can't make myself believe they bring anything more than an exoticism to the cooking process. Yes, it's what they use in Morrocco but it doesn't mean they wouldn't prefer All Clad if they could!

Agree about tagines as cooking vessels.

Take a look at this page:

https://brendanjack.com/five-uses-for-a ... t-anymore/

You could use one as a hat and hang Australian fly balls on it, or better yet a use for old corks.

When in Australia years ago, we actually met one of those hats the old fashioned way--a guy was actually wearing one!

I should make one but think I will use only first growth corks and will hang them from my deerstalker hat!

Should be enough to keep other pedestrians away from me when out walking!

I've never seen anyone wear one except in the Monty Python Australian Philosophers Sketch.
