After she was delivered, we spread her out on a table in the driveway to trim all unneccessary things away, including the eyeballs, brains, nipples and trotters. Oh, and we even had to shave her--most of her hair was gone, but some telltale remained and we had to make her perfectly smooth. Wish I'd gotten a picture of the UPS guy pulling into the driveway.
From the trim table to the whirlpool tub we bought at the Re Store for $25. They'll actually come and take it away too, and we get a tax deductible donation! Here she is on roasting day after we'd broken all the ice off and bilge-pumped the brine out.
Our pig weighed 152 pounds. This roaster is designed to take up to 300 lbs.
I designed a litter-slash-carving table for a four-man carry from the driveway/front to the back patio where the party was under way, and had bought fern head bands for the carriers.
