TV food shows

I've always enjoyed watching Rick Bayless' cooking show. This January is his 5th season: Mexico--One Plate at a Time. I also own a couple of his cookbooks. His website has recipes from his show and some other interesting topics. http://www.fronterakitchens.com

What are some of your favorite cooking shows?

They're all gone. Every one of them. Julia, of course. Iron Chef, the real one. Taste. Too Hot Tamales. Keith Floyd...

Like Stuart said, most of my faves are gone as well. And Larry, I sure do wish we had Rick Bayless' show on here as I truly appreciate his cooking (and his cookbooks). His Frontera brand chipotle salsa might be the best jarred salsa I've ever had.
For current shows, I like watching Lidia and Ming Tsai on PBS, Jamie Oliver in Italy, and an occasional Rachael.

Julia is constantly recycled here on PBS. How about your area?

On the Food Channel, I like Iron Chef America. Beyond that, I'm just watching re-runs of Tyler Florence & Alton Brown.

On other channels, I like or have liked Hell's Kitchen, The F Word & Top Chef. Although...I'm not sure any of these could (technically) be called a cooking show.

Com' on, Stuart!! Road trip!! Let's go see Mary Sue and Susan in Santa Monica. Before I moved to California I used to watch Two Hot Tamales and wonder what it would be like here.

Bachelor road trip!

My two favorites, both long gone, were Joyce Chen Cooks and The French Chef. And I liked The Galloping Gourmet for its sheer fun, although I never learned any recipes or techniques from it.

Joyce Chen's program, in particular, is what got me started in cooking.

Alton Brown and Tyler Florence...are the best! I loved David Rosengarten's Taste when it was on (even met him in person a few times because I took some of his cooking/tasting classes in NYC). I was really sad to see his show go. Oh and does anyone remember the old How to Boil Water. I thought that show was so funny! THe new one was terrible though (even Hottie Tyler couldn't make it work!). I watch Iron Chef for fun. Wasn't a big fan of the old Iron Chef..too Fear Factor for me.

Before the food network days, I would watch Julia Child, The Frugal Gourment, and Yen Can Cook...LOL! There was also another woman who had a coking show that I liked. I can't remember her name now. She had blondish hair and was always kinda mean and never smiled, but I liked her food.
