Not me, just been too busy to cook. :( Or to cook special stuff. We had a pretty good spinach risotto the other day, though, and an imam bayildi that would have been pretty good if we hadn't had a crappy out-of-season eggplant. :P

Nah. Just regular ordinary stuff, shrimp scampi over fettucine last night, spaghetti with my meat sauce tonight, grilled back ribs tomorrow. Nothing I have to put much thought into.

Fair enough. It was roast chicken and leftover lasagna here so I'm no role-model, either.

I've been in Singapore and Vietnam lately. Since I got back to the States everything tastes like cardboard. After all that fresh food it's hard to get motivated to cook here again.

Well, if you don't do it, who will? Can you recreate something you had on your trip?

Jeff, I spent a day in a cooking school in Hoi An and have 3 recipes for dishes we made there. Of course I'll eventually try to make them.

I am writing some articles about my impressions of the food in both countries, particularly the street food, for a friend, Mark Spivak, who has started a new and informative website, http://eatdrinkjourney.com. One of the articles has a good recipe. I'll give you a heads up when they're going to be published and you can try it too.

Kind of. Left for Los Angeles on April 21st, travelled home via the California and Oregon coasts which are practically Mars as far as Verizon connectivity is concerned, and came home early with pneumonia. All I want to eat is melon. Not much to say about that!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

OK Jeff, As promised, the first article on Singapore food is up on http://eatdrinkjourney.com. I think the plan is to publish two Singapore articles this week. The second one will be a street food crawl. Then nothing next week. Then two articles on the food of Vietnam the following week, (the week of Jun 5th.) The recipe from the cooking school will be in the last article.

Hope you enjoy them.

If you want them pushed to you just sign up on the homepage and you'll get everything from the website via email. It's good content and worth a try.
