Ever been in a restaurant when yuppy gourmets are spending more time snapping pics of their food than eating it?

Thought this might resonate.

I haven't seen too much of that around here, but I do remember sitting next to a couple of hipster kids who had a big DSLR that was aimed at the food more than their forks were.

That's hilarious. And I'm sympathetic to both sides--I do photograph my food some of the time, but at least I try to be unobtrusive about it!

I've even seen them standing on chairs to get a different angle on the food, and then, after the chef went to great lengths to have the food arrive 'au point' at their table, they sometimes sit there letting it get cold while they post their picture to Facebook or email it to all their friends etc.

No wonder owners hate this trend - it also slows service to the point where they may get one less turn on a table per night and hits them right in their wallets.
