by Bill Spohn » Sat May 28, 2016 2:57 pm

Season 2 just became available on Netflix - episodes with Grant Achatz, Alex Atala, Dominique Crenn, Enrique Olivera, Ana Ros, and Gaggan Anand.

As it is raining here today, I know what I'm going to be doing!! :D :D

You've just named the best reason for joining Netflix. Might have to. After I get a curtain installed--tv viewing on sunny summer days is impossible.

I haven't seen it yet but a good friend of ours saw the Dominique Crenn episode and decided she wanted to have supper in her restaurant in San Francisco. They asked us if we wanted to go along and I agreed, figuring that it would make for a nice birthday dinner for my wife. We reconsidered when we found out that the tasting menu with the "better" wine pairings would run $600 each. We'll be going to her bistro instead.

Isn't that kind of the going rate these days for the 'in' restaurants in SF?

It's definitely the high end but not the most expensive. I just read that Saison has claimed that crown (actually, most expensive restaurant in Califronia) at $398 for the only menu offered, before wine. Didn't realize it had gotten to that point.
