My new mixer's here!!!

And it's a beaut. 'Espresso' was the color name and it's not the gradiant-color depicted on Amazon, but a lovely shade of rich coffee brown nonetheless.

But first, feast your eyes on the minor cosmetic damage to the box that got me $150 off usual price. The machine itself was obviously unharmed and had never been removed from the box.

Now take a look at my hooks and stuff--not painted, didn't expect that!

Here's a cool improvement over the old days, a flip-up cover for the attachment connection:

And finally, here's the new machine looking totally at home on the appliance bar:

You know, I really didn't want a new one, but now that Mr. Coffee's here? Welcome home, darlin'!

I dunno Jenise. I woulda sent it back. That gash in the box looks pretty gruesome.

I like the new flip-up attachment cover. Definitely a great idea. I spent more than my share of time looking for where I put the pop-off lid - or where it fell and rolled off to. And I especially love the new shape dough hook. I've read in various magazines that it's an improvement over the older C-hooks, which are notorious for up the dough at the top, necessitating the occasional stop-n-clean.

Looking forward to seeing what you think of her. She's a beaut!

Looks pretty heavy duty!
Why brown?

I had a friend that installed a brown toilet in his guest suite because he got a deal on it (apparently they don't sell well in that colour). When asked why he'd chosen that, he always said 'because you never need to clean it'.

Guess that doesn't apply to a mixer......

The gradiant brown shown on Amazon was gorgeous. This isn't quite that, but otherwise it's fairly neutral in my kitchen so a good choice; otherwise I wanted red or chrome/silver. The huge discount I got on the brown one because of the gashed box won the day.
