I'm a crumpet girl now.

Back home, its cockney slang..."she`s a nice piece of crumpet".

Bob, yes I knew that somewhere in the British isles a young girl is referred to as a 'crumpet'. Cute saying--I think!

Isn't that a crumpet who's been violated by a man's trumpet? Doesn't MSNBC have a show where they catch those guys? :)

Actually, Jeff, that probably really is the reason. Cockney rhyming slang!

Back to our regular programming: I've gone my whole life not liking crumpets. I thought they were rubbery. Turns out my husband has never one at all, so to prove to him they were rubbery I bought a pkg at Whole Foods in Vancouver. We both fell in love. Not rubbery at all, but they toast up crisp top and bottom in a toaster-oven, and the interior texture's absolutely delightful. Does everything I usually want an English Muffin for, but even better.
