...the Mini Peanut Butter Crackers. Absolutely, definitely, especially if you like peanut butter, don't go anywhere near these little bites of bliss because you will require restraints to keep from eating the whole box on your way home. They're sinfully wonderful--they have no right making anything this good.

Oh, something else to avoid? And this time I really mean it: it's a new product, biltong. Biltong is the African (possibly, South African in particular) version of jerky--seasoned dried beef (though it could be whatever was leaping through your yard, I don't believe the term is specific to animal so much as method). I despise the sticky boiled meats in a bag that passes for jerky today, but I love the real thing--marinated, dehydrated, chewy as hell. So this sounded right up my alley. Unfortunately, I didn't find it compelling--too dry, too salty--and when I got home I used the rest of the bag to make points with the Doberman next door.

Just had a chase across the intertubes reading up on biltong. Thanks! (Anyway, you never know when a friendly Doberman might come in handy.)

The Dobie's a sweetheart. Very protective of his people, of which I'm now one since I keep treats for him. He growls ferociously at anyone on my patio he doesn't recognize and at Bob whenever he wears a hat. Since Bob is bald, that's pretty often. He growls at all hats and no one knows why. :).

Gotta watch out for some of that TJ stuff. Once just casually picked up a bag of cashews with a solid crackling coat of honey and sesame seeds. Couldn't believe how good they were...until I ate so many my stomach went "Feh" and I had to put them away., out of sight.
