Does anyone else think it seems ironic that Heinz is now marketing yellow mustard and French's is marketing ketchup?

Ironic? No. It's not the customary ones from my childhood but there were always other people who made ketchup and mustard -- we just never bought them. :lol:

I get confused: the yellow one is the ketchup and the red one is the mustard, right? It's hard to tell them apart when both wind up on a hamburger alongside pickle, onion and who knows what else to obscure the fact that the meat tastes like thick paper.

No, you've got it backwards! Heinz was the ketchup, French's the mustard.

The ironic thing that I had to mention several times while in France was that no matter how proud they were of their mustard that was so much better than anywhere else in thee world, they seemed to have totally forgotten that the mustard seed they made it from was Canadian, not French!.

BTW, I sampled Heinz's Peri Peri sauce recently and was surprised that it is genuinely hot... and it's not too vinegary.

It's pretty much a table condiment for me. It's great mixed with a little mayo on a roast beef sandwich. It also give a little different heat and flavor from Mexican hot sauces on tacos and quesadillas.
