I'd never heard of 'clean labels'...

Interesting article Inside the food industry: the surprising truth about what you eat Think you eat only healthy, unprocessed foods? Think again. Joanna Blythman went undercover and discovered that even your fruit salad is not what it seems

Excellent article. So many things in there that bug me: that NatureSeal crap being close to the top of the heap. Which, they don't mention, has a flavor to it. People get used to it and don't notice or pretend not to notice it, but it's slightly bitter and I'm surprised people don't object on that basis even if they had no objection in principal to chemical treatment of their food (though they should).

Interesting to read about the tomato pulp extender. Never knew a name for that but I once bought a can of storebrand cheap tomato sauce and realized that it was full of something like that. Didn't know what, only that it had the texture of sawdust. I threw it out, of course.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
