How many pepper mills are in your kitchen?

I confess to using four on a regular basis. One each for Tellicherry, White, Sichuan, and Green. If I had more mills, I'm sure I'd find another peppercorn to fill it with, maybe pink. Anyone else this obsessed with peppercorns?

I answered two, but then realized that's technically wrong, as I have one in the kitchen and one in the dining room. Both hold Penzey's Tellicherry black, which I love. White pepper and (rarely) others get hand grinding in mortar and pestle as needed.

2 that I use. I think there's another stashed on a top shelf somewhere, that I bought and didn't like.

I have one for the Penzey's Tellicherry Extra Bold, one for white pepper, and one for Grains of Paradise.

I use pink and green so infrequently that a mortar/pestle will do.

We have three. Two for cooking or finishing at the stove (black and white); and one with black, white, red, and green at the table.

Yeah, me! I answered 5, although technically it's 4 at the moment - one 3-way (coarse, medium and fine grinds), one that is so coarse it's what would be called "cracked". one white and one mixed red, white, black and green. I had a fifth one-handed grinder for use when seasoning meat so that I can grind with one hand and rub it in with the other without having to stop and wash my hand after ever rub. Unfortunately that one just broke and I haven't replaced it yet.

I also keep a jar of pickled green peppercorns in the fridge, but they don't get ground up.

Now ask me how many different kinds of vinegar I have in the kitchen.

I am relieved to see that no one has ticked "I use pre-ground."

Two, both filled with tellicherry, one at my prep counter and one by the stove. I hate them both. One is ugly, looks like it was made by a German cuckoo-clock maker, but it sure churns out the pepper at the precise volumn and coarseness I love. The other is very modern and stylish, a Peugeot that cost quite a bit, requires more effort and it doesn't work half as well Oh--and it doesn't even really like tellicherry. It prefers, per the manufacturer, the smaller Malabar--it won't even grind the larger Penzey's extra bold tellicherry--can you believe they make all these pepper mills and think they can dictate to you which peppercorn you use? JEESH.

Now that I've read Jeff's response, I think I need a grinder for GoP. I bought some but haven't really gotten into yet--a grinder would solve this problem.

I also have green peppercorns which I rarely grind but add whole to things, and ground white pepper which I'm perfectly happy buying and using that way.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I just unearthed a 5th, also filled with Tellicherry. Now I have one for pink! :)
