And in Big Postal Stamp News.....

by Ken Schechet » Wed Sep 24, 2014 11:14 am

According to the Palm Beach Post the USPS will release 5 new stamps on Friday honoring Julia Child, James Beard, Joyce Chen, Edna Lewis and Felipe Rojas-Lombardi. This is part of a "Best of America" tribute series. "The chefs represent an era when American food came into it's own as a vibrant, eclectic cuisine and changed American kitchens by encouraging us to undertake our own culinary adventures." Now I'm going to have to get some of these although I have no idea what I'm going to put them on. I hardly mail anything anymore.

Mail a steak. They're obviously food stamps.

Okay, I read a lot about chefs etc, and thought I knew all the great old names. So who was Rojas-Lombardi?

Jeff, thanks. Never knew of him. Btw, noticed that the explanation of his death was provided by "his business partner, Tim _____ ". Probably also, and more importantly, his life partner. Thank god we've evolved to where we no longer have to had behind euphemisms--at least for the most part.
