If by 'count' you mean would I include it in my issue, oh yes, it's among the worst.

Oh, dear. I like ambrosia. I think I have to disagree with you. There are some good fruit salads. (Not many, that I'll agree.)

Hmm, Thai green papaya salad, too. It's hardly recognizable as fruit, though.

I'm with Jeff. I like Ambrosia and I've had a few other fruit salads I've liked. Of course, sometimes just a chilled bowl of mixed fruit is awfully delicious on a hot summer day, even if calling it a salad is a stretch.

Does curry chicken salad stuffed into a fresh papaya and sprinkled with toasted coconut count? One of my favorites.
(I know, that's more of a chicken salad than a fruit salad...)

I don't mind mixed fruits in a bowl. What I mind is when it's made well in advance, and the fruit macerates and turns rubbery (watermelon) or slimy (bananas).

Yeah, I'm not much for bananas in fruit salads for that reason. Come to think of it, I'm not much for bananas in a lot of things. Not a big fan of banana cream pie or banana pudding. Don't see the point of chocolate coated frozen bananas. If there's something I like them in other than granola-and-milk, I can't think of it right now.
