Never heard of them before; but they do look nice with decent prices. Our pots and pans cabinet is full of ScanPan.

Never was a big fan of Rusty, but to see a baseball player have successful business ventures after their playing days are over.

They sell Staub somewhere here locally (maybe Williams Sonoma?). It looks like high quality stuff but I've never used any of it.

I look at it in our kitchen shop all the time, nice looking stuff. I have a lot of Le Creuset, however which I love for the way it cooks, but not a fan of the light interiors that stain badly. I have see a lot of mussels being cooked, but I have never seen anyone using a mussel pot.

I prefer Staub to Le Creuset, both for price and the black enamel interior, which is far superior from a staining standpoint. Also, Le Crueset has taken to using a plastic knob, a sin for which they will be called to answer for. The variety of colors is not the same, but I am not big on color coordination.

I actually don't have either (other than a terrine dish or two) because I made the commitment to All-Clad instead. But a friend has some Staub pieces that I've lusted over, especially some shallow cast iron single-serving gratin pans about an inch deep. Agreed about the plastic knob complaint--those of us with high BTU stoves have to be really careful. A few weeks ago, I nearly melted off the handle of my Kuhn Pressure Cooker because it wasn't perfectly centered on the burner and the handle side took more than it's share of heat.

Karen--have to admit, I snickered over the mussel pan, too. It's cute, but unneccessary.

They are very high quality. Have not checked out the link Jenise posted but will. The local Tuesday Morning has the individual gratins that I lust for as well. Oval and round in different colors. I think grey, black, blue and orange. I've seen them there off and on and a few weeks ago they had quite a few. Would be great for all sorts of things. Just not used to spending that much all at once at TM !

Given that it's enamel coated, I don't think a rusty Staub is possible.
