however, I do know what I like. Right now, I am liking Trentatre Rosso, an Italian wine. Very flavorful, with some spice. Any one else like it?

Not one I know either. Chances are good that it doesn't even come into Washington state--Karen, did you know that Italy has over a million different labels? Distributors who carry even a large variety of Italian products barely scratch the surface. But liveliness and spice are qualities that endear Italian wines to a lot of us. What region is it from, Karen?

Apulia region of Southern Italy on the Adriatic Sea. I bought it a Trader Joe's. I get most of my wine there because they have good choices, for me. I like a wine with bold flavors and this one delivers. When they find a good one, they buy up lots of cases, and then it is gone until the next time. I keep a list and watch for my favorites.

A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - French-heritage grapes that originated in Bordeaux - and the Italian Montepulciano, grown in Puglia (a.k.a. Apulia), the "heel" of the Italian "boot," aged in oak and 14 percent alcohol. Sounds like bold, warm and spicy would be appropriate descriptors.
