Anyone try a Rohan duck?

I'm intrigued. Especially the thin skin part. From D'Artagnan's website:

The D’Artagnan Rohan™ duck is a proprietary hybrid of several duck breeds including the Heritage Mallard and the Pekin, and is raised exclusively for D’Artagnan on a farm in New York State. The duck is named after a family of dukes and princes who lived in the Rouen area of Brittany, France, and made the name, and a native duck, famous. The Rohan duck boasts juicy, tender, rose-colored meat with a mild taste that lends itself to practically every duck recipe.

Never administered antibiotics, hormones, or steroids, the Rohan duck is raised cage-free and fed a diet of corn and soy. The duck is available in two sizes: 5-5 ½ lbs and 5 ½-6 lbs. Because it is air-chilled, that weight is all meat and bone, not water retained during processing. This means that the skin crisps up nicely however it is prepared and the flavor is pure, unadulterated duck.

In keeping with the nose-to-tail philosophy of cooking, the duck is sold with neck and giblets, both of which are handy in making stock and adding rich flavor to sauces.

I can't bring myself to try duck. Wish I could! We have ducks who hang down by the river and I have befriended a couple. Too, the Canadian Snow Geese hang out about this time each year on their way down to Chico...beautiful creatures. I know, I know....silly of me.

Yes, once you eat the rabbits, then nothing can keep you from the goldfish, the hamsters, and a spare chihuahua or two.

I was raised on a mini farm, huge edible gardens, goats, rabbits, chickens, eggs. I knew we ate the chickens, but never could figure out what happened to the rabbits.....then I found out. Bad day in my life, wanted to run away. I was nine.

Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand why it walks like a duck, but talks like a man...

I have no issues with eating something that may be cute, as long as it tastes good, although I do draw the line at 'long pig', which though often in attractive packaging, can, I understand, get you into trouble if you eat it.

I have never tasted a Rohan duck, though I wonder if the name is a derivative of the Rouen duck because they think that Americans have trouble dealing with too many unfamiliar vowels? David - I see that d'Artagnan did get sued by the LOR owners over the use of the name, but it clearly goes much further back than Tolkein. I think the court labelled the movie company's accusations a 'fowl canard'....

Regarding the legal challenge, D'Artagnan isn't ducking the issue: they initiated the lawsuit for declaratory judgment against Zaentz, the folks who have the Rohan trademark (after Zaentz opposed them before the US Patent & Trademark Office). The original registration of the Rohan mark apparently was for supplements and feed for horses; I imagine a judge presiding with equineamity won't be that sympathetic when Zaentz cries foul.

Rohan was one of the original names of the Rouen duck when it came to England from France. It was also called the Roan and Rhône, before the name was settled on Rouen.

With me it's goat. Had them as pets and for the milk.
