The Love Note: My Custom Dabblings With Champagne Cocktails

by Jeff B » Sat Apr 21, 2012 3:22 pm

I made this little cocktail for my sweetheart. It's really just a "lightened up" version of a strawberry daiquiri replacing the rum component with a quality non-vintage champagne. Feel free to adjust the ratio of the components to your taste...

THE LOVE NOTE

Puréed fresh strawberries
Crushed Ice
Lemon & Lime Juice (Mixed)
A few drops of Vanilla Extract
A quality non-vintage champagne
Sugar cubes

Garnish the rim with salt and fresh lime wedge.

Write your special someone a heartfelt message on a rigid white napkin. When finished, roll up the napkin and gently tie it around the rim of the glass. Serve with a smile and a long kiss... :)

SOME OTHER CHAMPAGNE COCKTAILS (AND NAMES) I'VE COME UP WITH:

Champagne Colada (Basically a Piña Colada with champagne in place of the rum).
Scarlett's Promise (a lemon-lime and cream variety. I'm still fine-tuning this).
Slow Sex (Ingredients to be disclosed later, but I'm hoping it will be orgasmic...;)

These all sound good. I love bubbly cocktails.

Gee, it's cocktail hour. What a nice coincidence. :D

Thank you Cynthia. It's fun dabbling with them.
