Another Penzeys Mystery

by Carl Eppig » Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:15 pm

We received the new catalog today. On the cover they were promoting their "Ruth Ann's Muskego Ave Chicken and Fish Seasoning." The picture showed chicken fingers in a red sauce. Inside the back cover was the same picture except the chicken was even redder. The recipe called for chicken breast, Ruth Ann's seasoning, flour, and olive oil. On p. 36 the description of Ruth Ann's contained salt, black pepper, garlic. lemon peel, and onion in that order. So where did the red come from?

You may have to ask Penzeys that question, Carl. Saw the same thing and I can't think of any logical reason.

Some over-reaching graphic artist! I are one and am prone to choosing the most visually appealing photo if there is no context provided during layout stages. Probably got by someone who should have known better.

Agreed with Fred. I just got the catalog today and I think it is dubious judgment to display all the food on red plates on a red tablecloth.
