Tip: Cleaning Seeds from Squash

I'm probably the last person on the planet to think of this, but since we joined the Steele Farms CSA, we eat much more squash. I've discovered that the easiest way to clean out the seeds before roasting is to scrape them out using a grapefruit spoon. It's just about the perfect tool for this!

I agree that a grapefruit spoon is a good tool for the job.

But I reach for a melon baller, we have a couple of sizes of melon ballers and the large one is another great tool for this. It has a sharp cutting edge and gives you a good angle of attack...

Cynthia, the grapefruit spoon does so much more than just grapefruit! Best device for removing the chokes from artichokes, too.
