The Michelin Guide France, with its thick red covers, was released on Monday. Among the restaurants receiving the highest rating, three stars, is one addition, Les Flocons de Sel in the French Alpine ski resort of Megève.
There are now 26 three-star establishments in France (105 worldwide). In the two-star category are 10 newcomers, including two in Paris: Sur Mesure by Thierry Marx and L’Abeille. Le Jardin des Sens in Montpelier, which at one time had three stars, was demoted from two to one, as was La Madeleine in Sens.
The star count in Paris remains at 10 with three stars, 17 with two and 50 with one. In the one star category there are 11 newcomers and 6 demotions. The “Bib gourmand” label, for reasonably priced meals, has now been pinned to 630 in France, including 70 in Paris, with 20 new ones in that group.
The guide goes on sale on Thursday.
