plastic storage containers

by GeoCWeyer » Tue Jan 03, 2012 10:53 pm

I am ready to give up all plastic storage containers for anything that contains any oil at all. I really have to fight to get the grease off of them. I think I may go to glass storage containers for anything that has any oil/grease content. I didn't have a problem getting glass clean by hand or machine. I wash all the plastic by hand in hot water with plenty of Dawn, then I rinse in very hot water. It still feels greasy to me regardless if I use completely fresh wash water. I have to use Dawn due to the 2 parrots in the household.
Why can't I get the grease off of the plastic and have no problem getting glass containers clean?

Dunno, George. I do know that some of my plastic containers have a very slick feel even when they are spotlessly, squeaky clean. For those, I rely on my nose, rather than my fingers, to tell me that I did an OK job cleaning up.
