A runny question

by Larry Greenly » Sat Oct 28, 2006 10:20 am

Is it my imagination or has ketchup gotten runnier since it was packaged in plastic squeeze bottles?

Before you use any ketchup, you better shake it or you'll get nothing but liquid at first. I don't remember that with glass bottles. Your take?

It seems to be so, Larry. I had to remember that the other night, and thought of it just in time to avoid a pool of red water on my plate.

Maybe that's why we don't use it too much anymore. We're much more likely to go with some kind of hot chile sauce or salsa.

The consistency has changed for sure. Ditto good old American mustard. I've switched entirely to organic brands who never planned their product to ooze out of a squeeze bottle and sit up in a bead like caulk.
