Probably. This week has been so crazy, with 2 final exams, more than 200 students in each one, that I barely know what I am doing. TONIGHT is the big Hungarian dinner and we are supposed to leave in 15 minutes, but Louise's cheddar gougeres won't be ready for 30. No, not Hungarian I think, but FWIW the Jacques Pepin recipe does include paprika. Great stuff with Champagne.

I love gougeres (hhmmmm, insert Dale as Homer Simpson, substitute gougeres for doughnuts), but the Pepin version is a particular favorite.

Hello, hello! Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes! Sorry I've been MIA. Len took me to Vegas for my birthday for a few days, then I had to come back and finish getting ready for Christmas so haven't had time to lurk here. Frank, great to know I am in good company on the 20th from here on in.

We had great food in Vegas. Stayed at Encore on a package with a $250 (per day) dining credit so we ate at the two properties mostly. Highlights were: the Carpaccio at Sinatra (best we'd ever had), an open-faced shaved prime rib "French Dip" at The Country Club at Wynn after 18 holes there (THE most amazing white truffle potato chips went with it), and a Grilled Langostino Pasta at Bartolatta. We think that Vegas is definitley one of the best food cities in the U.S.

I love gougeres too! We are having a little New Years Eve dinner party. Those would be a great appetizer!
