Did anybody else see this week's Chopped?

If you did, did you need a hankie, too? Bob and I both blubbered all the way through it.

If you didn't and don't know what I'm talking about, instead of having four professional chefs compete as per the usual, the contestants this time were four "lunch ladies" who cook in school cafeterias. I never realized what unsung heroes these women are, but listening to one, for instance, talk about making pasta on Mondays so that she can give out big servings because so many of her kids are so poor they don't get much food over the weekend brought it all home. I wanted them all to win!

I watched it with Gail, and we had the same thought - all four deserved to win.

Drew and Robert, good to hear. I was sure I couldn't be the only soft touch around here!
