I guess the rotten economy has also hit where folks decide to pick up their spices. I do Penzey's mail order once a year, sometimes twice if I run out of several items. I have a nice herb garden but If it is pouring rain or 110º I get lazy and don't want to walk back to it, and certain dishes are just better with dried spices. I buy Penzey's in bulk, keep them in the package they come in then reseal in a freezer zip lock and store in a cool dark place. It is amazing that one year later when I open those packages the odor is still very strong. Love Penzey's product...I dread the day they don't have the quality they do now. How long was that store in business?
I read this link about the closure...reading the comments was interesting.
