Seem to be the rage in many places, how about your area?

The City did not allow them for a long time and not even sure they do now. I know there are two taco trucks that park in various places around the city during the week. There is also a guy who calls his business, "Willies Hot Dogs". He was banned from selling alongside the streets from his small cart. I've seen him the Blue Shield parking lot several times lately. He was banned from an area near Costco... I'm assuming Costco did not want the competition for their own hot dog bar inside the store. We also have a fast food permanent kiosk in the parking area of lots of small businesses. They serve all sorts of quick meals such as Chile dogs, Polish Kraut Dogs, potato salad, chips, tea, soft drinks. Other than the ones mentioned, I have not see anything like what the article talks about....wish we had them, however.

NYC has thousands of food carts. We even have an award, the Vendy: http://streetvendor.org/vendys/

They are indeed all the rage here. Both individually and in "cart pods" with several grouped together. They are relatively low entry cost for budding or experienced chefs to explode their creativity.

We even have---albeit potentially for a shrt time as a trial but possibly longer---a cocktail cart. And it is popular. (Heavily carded; roped off area)

It's OK. Doesn't compare to home made, if that's what your angle is.

Nope - but it'd be nice to satisfy biryani cravings occasionally without having to make one from scratch. ;)
