Jenise - I can only imagine the pain - I know that even a little burn hurts a lot. I hope that when you think of all of us thinking of you, it gets a little better.

Wow - sorry to hear that, Jenise. I can sympathize as I've been known to grab a hot skillet from the oven, too. I've been fortunate enough to avoid significant burns but it's still been painful. Hope it stops hurting soon!

Hey, much better today, and the worst pain is the embarrassment of having done this to myself. New bandages give me some flexibility and the tips of my fingers are free now so I can type. And I'm now starting to look on the bright side: like, Bob has to do all the dishes! I might have to milk this a little. :)

Karen, re emergency--yes, kind of. When after three hours on ice my hand still could not bear to leave its ice bath Bob demanded that we go. So off we went, but halfway there I talked him into going to see the 24 hour Walgreens pharmacist first. And with that guy's help we determined that for $40 we could buy the same products they'd probably treat me with in the ER, so with those and some Vicodin at home left over from something else, we were set.

Well now that is something I would not have thought of. Good for the Walgreens pharmacist, and it sure saved you a bunch of time at ER. Glad you are feeling better. The world looks brighter for you, I'm sure!

Huh? A pharmacist can give you a prescription medication without a doctor's say-so? Or did the pharmacist call a doctor to get a prescription issued? Opiates like Vicodin typically require lots of paperwork owing to the problem of abuse.
