Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman) gets her own Food Network show

by Karen/NoCA » Fri Aug 19, 2011 3:52 pm

I like her...like her love story with her cowboy husband, love that she is real, her kids are adorable and work the ranch with dad, and she loves her lazy basset hound. So she is getting her first cooking/reality show. It appears it will be filmed at the ranch and will follow the family around doing their ranch chores. One episode will be a first surprise birthday party for her young son. Her recipes are simple cowboy fare with girly food thrown in, because she wants it that way. I've made a few of them and they are indeed tasty. I made the first baked beans I have ever liked following one of her recipes. I actually kept the recipe which tells you I REALLY liked those beans. She has a good natured spirit and is a very talented lady.

I just googled and found her bean recipe. I'm going to try them next time I make baked beans. Thanks Karen.

Carrie, here is the link to the recipe I found and loved. It is actually by Pam Anderson and was featured on Ree's site. I think she had Pam as a guest at her lodge and this was one of the recipes Pam shared. In place of the green pepper, I used sweet peppers from my garden and a jalapeño. I had never used canned Pork and Beans before...but it sure was great for this recipe, IMHO. By the way my Navy husband who ate too many beans in the service and said he hated baked beans, loved this!

That's the same recipe I found (on Ree's site). Thanks Karen. I will add jalepeno also, since we like our beans to have a little kick. Will try this soon.

Is that the one who ran around in a skimpy bathing suit on some beach show? I don't think so, as this Pam Anderson has several cookbooks that seem well respected. Here is a link to her cooking site.
