One of those long-held pleasures is the act of sneaking a spoonful of raw dough before you even bake them.

I assume this is a common act for all cookie makers but, inevitably, I figure it's best to ask.
Perhaps some don't do it due to the raw eggs, or they simply prefer to wait and eat the "end product".
When I was little, sneaking into the raw dough was essentially the highlight of the cookie-making experience. It was a given that my sisters and I would be licking off one of the beaters or scooping out spoonfuls before the first batch got out of the oven.
I now have "matured" into somewhat more neutral ground and will sometimes intentionally avoid the raw dough in anticipation of tasting that first warm cookie. It's sort of trading one pleasure for the build up of another...
