That is just wrong. I'd like to pour something over that chef, that was caustic on his skin and see how he felt about it. I could not even watch the rest of the clip. :evil:

Hi Karen,

Looking at a few videos on the net, seems to me that in most cases the squid's main central nervous system has been removed, so the movements you see are likely involuntary contractions activated by salts in the sauce being poured on. You can think of it as akin to eating a headless chicken, the carcass of which is still capable of involuntary movement.

There are however videos out there of folks in Korea eating whole live octopi!

As for me, I think I would draw the line at food that moves on the plate, but that's just my own prejudice...
