YIKES !!!

I know that food prices have been on the rise for awhile now but generally it doesn't bother me that much. However when I needed some more half and half yesterday it was shock time.

Most of the time I buy Deans quart size and about 1. 79 was the price perhaps a year or so ago. Most of the time these days it has been around 2.50. Yesterday I thought I was reading the wrong label as it was priced at 3.59 for a quart size.

Trader Joes is more reasonable but they too are on the rise.

Hmmm... what to do a year from now. Get my own cow I guess.

Btw, we are in the midst of a week long heat wave with temperatures in the 90 range. We just got some blossoms on our tomato plants. Sure hope they make it through this week. Not sure what else I can do except keep them well watered.

Get some shade cloth at your local Lowe's/Home Depot type store. Make a frame around your tomatoes and drape the shade cloth over them in the high heat of the day.
