Cracker Barrel Bacon

by Carl Eppig » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:08 pm

We think that Cracker Barrel as a chain has been going down hill in recent years. However on our last trip we stopped at one for breakfast with nothing else around. We thought the bacon was fantastic, and bought a two pound package to bring home.

We fried some up this morning with pancakes and maple syrup. It was just as good as it was in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

I love Cracker Barrel! The first time I had it was in Virginia, and the food was amazing! I loved the pancakes and campfire beef. The people were very friendly, which made the experience even better!

We used to enjoy them too, however on our last trip I ordered my favorite, chicken and dumplings. I could only find two very small bites of chichen amongst loads of dumplings and sauce. Management only shrugged when I complained.

We have a Cracker Barrell opening up in our town in NC next week! Will have to try it. I love good bacon. Is it thick or thin sliced?
Hello. My name is Carrie, and I...I....still like oaked Chardonnay. (Please don't judge.)

Thick. Had it for breakfast again this morning; wonderful. Be sure to pick up a package.

Never saw anything in any of them that would indicate that.

Were you involved in the hiring process? Did you come in holding hands with another guy? Chances are it wouldn't have come to your attention, then.

Research shows that they have had problems dismissing gay employees. I didn't know that. What I meant by my comment was that I've seen many couples in there that could have been gay and were not refused service.

Yeah, I just had to pull your leg a little, Carl. :D It tends to be the case, though, that people who aren't in classes subject to discrimination aren't likely to notice it because it doesn't get pulled on us.

Cracker Barrels are primarily in the Eastern and Southern U.S., right? I don't believe I've ever even seen one.

Looks like pretty much everything east of the Cascades.

Not my favorite, for a variety of reasons.
