Coming: The Chew

by Jenise » Sat Apr 16, 2011 2:10 pm

Just read that one of the American TV networks is planning a new food-oriented daytime talk show that will debut this fall. Similar in format to the popular hour-long daytime chat show The View wherein Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and several other hosts rag on about current events, it's apparently going to be called The Chew, and American chefs Mario Batali and Michael Symon have signed on. So has popular Top Chef contestant Carla Hall (good for her!).

Interesting. I liked Carla on her Top Chef appearances, and was rooting for her to win this last time. She has one of the most vibrant personalities of any contestant, and should be a great fit for this type of show. :)

Yeah, she's a great person, eminently likable and talented. Which almost makes it a wonder they chose her for this show instead of doing the typical network thing of deciding that she's not pretty or curvy enough and hiring some completely unskilled vavavoom type or a member of the Osbourne family. :)

I always liked her attitude towards food. I think everything she made was in a way "comfort food". She also has a great wit and is very perceptive. And lastly and greatly in her favor she isn't a "barbie"!
