After about a week the radishes begin to sprout and those leaves make a remarkable addition to a salad adding a minty-radish note. After the sprouts are trimmed off, the radishes remain perfectl edible.

Never tried it with a "partial radish". Might work but considering that the radishes remain crisp and edible after sprouting and trimming the tops, never thought it necessary.
