RCP: Red Velvet Sorbet

This recipe came to me from a health-food website I subscribe to, and I haven't made it myself. But I'm going to: Bob has the habit of eating a popsicle every night, and this would be a homemade way for him to get that brief, cold nightly sweet fix he craves. Might up the cocoa but otherwise it looks good. Thought I'd share.

Red Velvet Sorbet
Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

4 large ripe bananas, frozen
10 ounces frozen raspberries
2 tablespoons natural (non-alkalized) cocoa powder
4-5 dates, pitted, chopped

Instructions:
Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until creamy. Refreeze briefly (3-5 minutes)

The dates are an interesting touch. Sounds tasty, though!

Well, it isn't molten lava cake with fresh raspberry sauce, but it sounds delicious and healthy.

This is interesting. I never thought to make sorbet like this. Might have to try variations. The technique is certainly very simple.

This past summer I started making granita once the fruit (usually peach or melon) was a bit too ripe to eat. Also a simple technique but requires more watching for the stirring. This is less fuss.

We're on the same wavelength. I'll make it today and post about my results.
