Fruit Juice labels

by GeoCWeyer » Mon Jan 10, 2011 7:42 pm

I am so sick and tired of reading the ingredients in small print on the labels of all (at least that I have encountered) of these great sounding juice combinations being advertised and labeled in large print as being these marvelous combinations of wonderful juices (cherry, raspberry, blueberry, mango, passion fruit, etc) and find that they are almost all a combination of white grape, apple and pear juice. I think this should be considered fraudulent labeling. They charge these super high prices for a something that may have 10-20% of the juices advertised on the label. Instead they are almost totally "filler' juices that are very inexpensive! What a ripoff!

Agreed. We buy only juices that are 100% the juice we're expecting to get and they're not always easy to find.

Gosh, I have not run across this yet. We only buy orange juice with pulp, from Florida Naturals, and occasionally apple juice. But always 100 % juice we are buying. I"ve always been skeptical of the mixed juices. Our grandkids love the "Simply"
types of juice. I have to admit they taste pretty darn good, however, I have never read the labels.

Pretty much the same here. I wash down my morning pills with either local cider until it runs its course, or Florida orange juice. We get the latter bulk processed by a very responsible regional dairy company called Oakhurst. All our dairy products come from them too.

Yes, sometimes it's almost a joke to see how cleverly they can obscure reality.

The other week I was buying almond oil and one brand called itself 'moisturizing oil' and had a picture of almonds on the cover, but no ingredient list. Clearly adulterated and they wouldn't even specify with what!
