Willams-Sonoma in concert with the Voltaggio brothers

by Jon Peterson » Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:36 am

At http://www.williams-sonoma.com/pages/voltaggio.html?cm_re=122610-_-promo-_-b_voltaggio_brothers_promo&cm_src=hppromo you can get some recipes, see a few videos and, of course, buy stuff that the Voltaggio brothers endorse. Pure sales, no doubt, but I can attest to Bryan's Balsamic-Marinated Hanger Steak!!

Interesting how well they've captured the imaginations of people who market things where most of the Top Chef winners disappear into a chasm.

It is interesting, Jenise. I think the Voltaggio brothers will be around for a while. Regarding not disappearing, Chef Mike Isabella is opening his own resuautant this Spring right up the street from my office...Italian I believe, which this part of town (Penn Quarter/Chinatown) really does need! The only Italian restaurant of note in the area is Carmines (of NYC); I can't help but think "Buses Welcome" when I think of Carmines.

Sounds like a nice advancement for your neighborhood. Mike seemed like a pretty good cook, other than his obtuseness about vegetarian food that is. But he wasn't in the Voltaggio league, and I think what sets Mike and Brian apart is that they were both so good and better than most contestants most years--and they're both good looking. Which never hurts. :)

Are you watching the All Stars? Care to predict a winner?

Actually, Jenise, I have not been watching All Stars. I guess I should take a look; tonight, right? I see if I can get a ltittle caught up at Bravo.com.

Looking at some of their recipes they are quite complex.

Go ahead, I won't spoil anything for you. Although I will say there will be cheers across America when Jamie finally gets the ax.
