English Muffin Splitter

OK, NJ has been routinely making our english muffins for a few months now. She bought one of these gadgets and I scoffed about it being a waste of $$. Been using this for a week or so and the damn thing works like a charm...lots of nooks and grannies.

Okay, it looks like a hefty fork. What does it do that a fork doesn't do that's worth the $10 toll?

With a folk you sort of have to do a bit of prying. These tongs have a "scissor like" action going for them. easier and quicker. Like I said, I was skeptical at first, but the darn thing works and better than a hefty fork.
Plus, I determined it is organically produced and shipped via yaks directly to your door.

It must get expensive feeding and housing all those elderly female relatives. Or do the grannies live in the nooks?

No more expensive than crooks and nannies, don't you agree, Rev. Spooner?

How lovely that NJ is such a baker. I've never made English Muffins myself, but did have a friends' homemade once and they were terrific. Unfortunatley for the rest of us the muffins we buy are essentially pre-split since Americans are in general too stupid to understand how to perform this feet themselves (when I was a child, storebought muffins really DID require fork-splitting). Of store-bought muffins, Bays are the best and we discovered this weekend in Florida that they now make a Multi-Grain version. A dozen came home in my luggage.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
